Recently I found a nice facebook post of an initiative from Dasmariñas II LEO Club, Philippines (facebook) called “Cause For Applause”, which I really liked. I had to find out more about it, so I asked LEO friend Pops Kionisala (facebook) to tell me more about this initiative. 

Let me share what he sent:

CAUSE FOR APPLAUSE AWARDS AND RECOGNATION

Just giving you a brief history of the program, we started the program during our chartering year with distinguished two (2) awards, Leo of the Year Award and Member Service Award, a simple but meaningful appreciation through members efforts and proven dedication. Nowadays, we started to improve the program, put additional awards, Leo of the Month and Volunteer Service Awards, for members and volunteer active club performance. The Leo of the Month Award just started this term (LY 2016-2017) and we already awarded the title for July 2016 to Leo Derek Kaypee Castillo who demonstrated the LEO Values. Everyone is deserving and we are hoping that this program will continuously implemented for continues organizational growth and members development now and for the future leaders of the club. The Club is very proud to each members.

Cause For Applause

Awards and recognition programs create a positive team work environment, improve member morality and motivate active performance. At the Dasmariñas II LEO Club, we strive to create a culture of appreciation and celebration through our various awards and recognition programs.

LEO OF THE MONTH AWARD

The Leo of the Month Award has been designed to reward and recognize members for their monthly significant achievement for the Club and whose exemplify LEO Club Values.

ELIGIBILITY
Any official members of Dasmariñas II LEO Club.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Provide monthly recognition of member who demonstrates:

  • a positive attitude toward work responsibilities as a role model for others; regardless personal daily challenges and dedication to serve the community.
  • commitment to quality in carrying out responsibilities, and is an asset to the Dasmariñas II LEO Club;
  • a willingness to exercise servant-leadership, take initiative, and accept and carry out additional responsibilities beyond regular job assignments for the good of the community as a whole.

LEO OF THE YEAR AWARD

  • The Leo of the Year Award has been designed to reward and recognize members for their significant achievements for the Club and whose actions exemplify LEO Club values all throughout the year.

ELIGIBILITY
Any official members of Dasmariñas II LEO Club.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Nominees typically will have accomplished a significant achievement in one or more of the following areas:

  • improvement in productivity;
  • creative solution to a significant problem;
  • break-through effort that resulted in extraordinary innovation or improvement;
  • contribution that had significantly impact to the Club’s long-term success;

 

  • or, who demonstrated and lived the principles of leadership.

In summary, this award is for an individual whose performance all throughout the LEO year exemplified the true meaning of Leadership, Excellence, and Opportunity.

MEMBER SERVICE AWARD

The Member Service Award has been design to reward and recognize member’s participations and efforts all throughout various activities.

ELIGIBILITY
Any official members of Dasmariñas II LEO Club.SELECTION CRITERIA
This will be awarded to club members who actively participated on a project, process, or initiative that significantly advances the organizational goals through their efforts. Volunteering for and working on special projects.

VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD

The Volunteer Service Award has been design to reward and recognize volunteers (from different unit) in participating club activities.

ELIGIBILITY
Any participating volunteers to the club activities.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Awardee should have demonstrated outstanding service in civic and community involved in support club activities.
