24/02/2015 – After two nice flights from Kathmandu to Delhi and further on to Channai we arrived the south of India late night. There was only one thing to do: get a cab, check in at the hotel and get some sleep.
The next day started with meeting LEOs from Chennai who directly brought us to the first activity: an eye screening event in a school, which is regularly organized by Leo Club of Avarampoo and LEO Club Futurefixer (an awesome name in my oppinion). The students were awaiting us with flowers and some typical celebration – wow, it was such a great experience to be welcomed in such a great way. To be honest, we felt like prince and princess, with all that flowers around our necks :)
The students also showed us their drawings which they made and which were awarded for the national freedom poster competition.
This activity was a great start into our trip to Chennai and I loved the idea of that eye screening project.

On 400 pages I show community service of young people, whom I was able to accompany during self-organiced travels to 25 countries between 2014 and 2017.
I am designer, creative and photographer from Wels, Austria. I’ll visit 50 LEO clubs until 2017 and will publish a book about similarities and differences of volunteering around the world.
